The software industry in the USA should realize that while the political/court/news reality in USA is wrapped up more and more in fake language, their own software products should not be tainted by fake and imitation sold in as the real thing. Because the audience of USA software is the whole world.

Robots can be better programmed without attributing 'intelligence' to software-eg, Nobel Laureate Penrose says, computers don't do intelligence. Robots should also not mimic life because they are just machines and should look like machines. Ie, say 'no' to humanoid robots, oidbots.

Some financial news websites say: "USA is now one big bet on AI". No it isn't. It is one big bet on data centers.

Some say: "AI is like the dot-com bubble." No it isn't. AI is like the Facebook bubble.

There are better ways of programming than "AI", also about robotics and pattern matching.

I just was forced to sit through an hour long pitch for AI. Every aspect was like listening to some snake con you into something you don't need.

The meeting culminated with the AI writing a paper using the info we had fed it over the course of the meeting, and the very first sentence had a typo.

Europe gears up to a new self-defence pact. Imao:
* Some eastern Nato countries behave as though they want to become 'part' of Russia and should not be included
* USA's international policy is erratic; this may worsen November 2028. So before that point, European self-defence has got to work!

AI's Environmental Impact - Energy, Water, Waste, and Grid Strain.

In this episode we really look at the impact AI is having in terms of climate, e-waste, water displacement... and it is truly bad, so if anything this is a major problem (no hype)

Far more, but for now I recommend not to have AI think for you, children should use critical thinking, all should, learn skills crossing domains, areas of study, read more books, don't buy into AR/VR tech, be responsible, media deflects, nudges and use fear for the wrong reasons.

31.05.2025 20:49 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I also think there are no β€œAI Skills” that children should learn.

The tech is friendly & evolving (e.g., β€œprompt engineering” is next to useless), but also, the use of AI is the last thing students need. Unless you teach them to NOT use AI for things that matter. That's a lesson I could get behind.

Regardless of your views on AI, it’s objectively funny when the big labs are like β€œwe can’t even release some of the stuff we have internally it’s much too powerful” and then when they do a release it’s… a social network for sharing AI slop?

It's not really the job of Nato to shoot down drones and other invasive things over European countries--because the US president is occupied elsewhere. Europeans must form a brand-new alliance to defend their countries also against drones, relying on native technology & no 'kill-switches' elsewhere.

"Thought leaders" should visit schools to coach teachers to induce children to avoid "AI" tools and equate use of "AI" with such as throwing garbage in the backyard, polluting waters and burning down forests. Ethics of a human-friendly technological attitude compels us to avoid "AI" at all costs.

Years ago, Putin said that the North Koreans would rather eat grass than give up their nuclear weapons.

Russia would rather eat grass than let go of their goal to win Ukraine.

Europe needs to militarily safe-guard their set of nations before everything gets lost-without reliance on USA or China.

Big tech--Google/Microsoft/etc have been 'pro humanity':
* Open source
* Linux
* Tiny car-navigators
* Phone-translators
But now they are not giving humanity the upper hand:
* Obfuscation of origins of images/texts/sounds in their "AI"
* Dissolution of humanity at working-places

Europeans should note that 'putting own nation first' has the opposite effects: it is a "goldfishification". Eg, the US has weak currency now, less science, official endorsement of biased journalism and courts, charges on wares and visas, so less is happening and it's hard to see it-inside the bowl.

Before: "AI" gave responses based on the typical 'next word' in human responses. In upcoming years: "AI" predicts what is the typical next word in "AI" responses. This will lead to a spiral of ever-increasing nonsense, in which human science is suspended in a loop of self-quoting.

Prediction: Each month,
"AI" will produce less and less
coherent results, and "AI costs"
will increase. The reason is that
"AI" doesn't "know" the world but
extracts words from human chats and
summaries but there are less and
less human chats and summaries;
so "AI" will loop-feed its own
mistakes.

There's something I'm seeing, where companies are now trying to find ways of saying they're not using AI while using AI. AI is becoming a really poisonous term, and I've seen even in casual conversation people trying to avoid it, and saying things like "current technologies" or whatever.
