Trail running though… you should probably have something decent on your feet before going out.

Just work best with the time and the materials you have.
And it’s also ok to suck, and if you’re farther along in the process, its ok to go through sucky slumps. Just keep going. Keep learning. Keep following what’s calling to you.

So, I need new running shoes…

But sometimes though you gotta work best with what you have. This goes for making art. Don’t wait to do something you feel passionate about just because you don’t have something you think you need to start, or don’t feel qualified enough to put yourself out there.

New episode of Dark Concepts dropping tomorrow! Talking about horror conventions, a post-possession flash fiction, and a true morbid story that takes place in a morgue…

Today was a damn good day. Yard sales, went for a relaxing hike, found a legit wasp nest (never seen one that big before…) then finished it all off with flights of cider from North Country.🧃

Also, I finished writing another short story. So yeah, a damn good day. 👻

I do my best to take each day in stride, but sometimes this just hits.

I picked up some books over the weekend, and now I can’t decide which one to start once I’m finished with my current one… I’m excited about all three!

Submitted a short story this morning and then went for a run. Not only was I greeted with rain but the current of insecurity dragging me down like an anchor.

I embraced it.

I ran hard anyway. 🤘🏼

I’m pretty excited to be doing a whole bunch of nothing this weekend, aside from sending off a bunch of stories for submissions and a D&D sesh on Sunday.

So, the werewolf story is done. It’s just a 700 word piece but damn is it angry. I think it may have some bite.

Regardless, I’m extremely honored and grateful to have been a part of both of these conventions. I met so many great people. I don’t say much at these things (unless the topic of ghosts come up,) but I really do love this community. A bright spot during a dark time. You are fucking awesome.

Grief is hard to talk about, but it was something I wanted to speak on, especially about transmuting grief into art.

I feel I didn’t get to so much because I got frazzled with all those eyes on me. It’s not something I’m used to, but I’ll get better the more I do it.

Just gotta show up and try.

Stokercon and Camp Necon. Two live readings, two panels, and a ton of lessons learned. Not only about writing, but also about myself and what I want to accomplish in the years ahead.

I’m not going to lie, I was extremely anxious about the panels, especially the grief in horror at Necon.

Going to a Ghost concert right after Camp Necon was the right way to end the weekend (even though it’s a Monday.) 💀

Always a whirlwind with these conventions, but the horror community is amazing. So happy to be a part of it. 👻

So, I accidentally left my earbuds at home today… 😭

Anyway, this is my current listen and I fucking love it!
Alternate history with magic and an endless stream of snarkiness.

It’s been a lot of hours. My eyes burn, but 20k words have been eliminated from this chonky 140k word draft. It looks like I may have a finished(ish) novel by next week if my eyes don’t catch fire first.

Now it’s nap time. 😴
