Wyatt Kaiser won't play tonight, but shouldn't miss any more time.
Adin Hill is the first goalie off the ice, projected to start his 4th straight.
The Blackhawks are wearing their black jerseys tonight in Vegas.
Wyatt Kaiser is on the ice for the Blackhawks morning skate in Vegas. He left last game early with an injury.
Nick Lardis, a big part of the Blackhawks' future, is playing seven minutes a night on the fourth line while veterans who might not be around for long are getting far more minutes. Jeff Blashill is walking a fine line between the present and the future:

Calm the fuck down, Duo.
NEW POWERS & LAZ: @marklazerus.bsky.social and I discuss Connor Bedard, the Blackhawks' play since the trade deadline, Sacha Boisvert's situation at BU and more.

OK, I've seen all 10 Best Picture nominees and 19 of 20 acting nominees. (Sorry, Ethan Hawke.)
My Oscar picks from a really, really good movie year:
SENTIMENTAL VALUE: Stellan Skarsgård going for Best Supporting Actor is category fraud of the highest order. Judi Dench was a supporting actor in Shakespeare in Love. Skarsgård was at worst co-lead of this movie. Come on, man. (He was great. Movie was, too. But still!)
New POWERS & LAZ: @ByScottPowers and I discuss Connor Bedard's feisty night in Salt Lake and the ongoing Sacha Boisvert drama, then I see how many times I can say "Düsseldorf" in one podcast.

As the Blackhawks, Mammoth, MacKenzie Weegar and one Utah fan in particular learned last night, a spicy Connor Bedard is the best Connor Bedard:

Lyft driver: "Where ya from?"
Me: "Chicago."
Driver: "I used to live in Chicago. What part?"
:: oh no ::
Me: "You got me. I'm in the South suburbs."
Driver: "Which one? Tinley? Orland? Cal City?"
:: oh god no ::
Me: "I'm actually in Northwest Indiana."
Driver: "Oh."
Me:
I mean, I didn't shout, but yeah, haha.

I tracked down the fan who got stared down by Connor Bedard tonight. Here's what he was yelling at Bedard (who, by the way, thought the whole thing was funny):

The Blackhawks will play the Senators in Düsseldorf on Dec. 18 and Dec. 20.

Jeff Blashill didn't have an update for Wyatt Kaiser. Said he'll know more Saturday.
Bedard wins it in OT. Blackhawks go 4-0 against the Mammoth this season.
Blackhawks and Mammoth going to OT. That's at least a point in five of their last six games for the Hawks.
GOAL: Peterka shortly after the power play. It's 2-2.
I just talked to the fan Bedard was staring down.
"I kinda deserved it," he said.
More later.
Wyatt Kaiser just high-sticked Kevin Stenlund so hard that even Artyom Levshunov was wincing.
1-1, that is.
GOAL: Bedard to Bertuzzi. 1-0. Bedard staring somebody down in the stands after that one?
Now Keller catches Rinzel up high and they DO call this one. First power play of the game goes to Chicago.
Matt Grzelcyk just took a stick to the face and was down for a while, but the only calls are matching roughing minors for the skirmish that ensued. Bad miss.
Bedard double-shifting on the first and fourth lines this period. So if you wanted to see him play with Nick Lardis, here ya go.
Now Bedard with a pretty decent hit on Weegar in the corner, knocking him off his feet.
Mangiapane in the thick of another skirmish, this time with Sean Durzi.
