Ellis Peters 1913-1995 is best known for her series of 20 medieval Brother Cadfael novels, which were the basis for the ITV series with Derek Jacobi. Hugely popular, clever books and inspiration for many other crime writers.

I've read all of the Cadfael, The Heaven tree Trilogy and the Felse series. After Cadfael, my favorite is The Marriage of Megotta. I'm so sorry I lost my copy.
