I often say that no two days working in a museum are ever the same but today no two hours were the same: I went from being in a cinema where I'm helping out with an upcoming event, to running for a train before filming myself with a horses head

On Christmas Eve I'm thinking about the Barnsley Carol, written by Barnsley glass bottle maker Arthur Godfrey in 1933. Rediscovered by @barnsleymuseums.bsky.social in 2023 and now sung by people across the World. So proud to have been part of its journey barnsleymuseums.art.blog/2023/12/12/a...

From the research I've done Arthur Godfrey sounds like such a fascinating man I tracked down his last Barnsley address which was on the same street my dad grew up on I want to think the Godfrey's and Hardy's were friends
