This. This is what people mean by “there is no law anymore”. It doesn’t literally mean to ignore the law and just give up. It’s a call for those who are responsible for ENFORCING the law to actually do it. As of now, that’s not happening.

I also see a lot of people posting about so-called legal wins, only for them to get overturned by SCOTUS. It gives a lot of people false hope that the rule of law will prevail. At the moment, it clearly isn't. The Trump regime is openly breaking the law and nobody is holding them accountable.

I think the sentiment people are expressing here is frustration that nobody is *enforcing* the laws

The frustration is that we often interpret those posts as “calm down, it’s illegal, SO he can’t do it”. And then he does it…with zero consequences. So instead of simply alerting folks to what the law is, pair it with a msg of resistance & actionable advice.

I think the problem is not with the pointing out, but with the lack of remedy. We're surrounded by talking heads who seem happy to point out day after day how things aren't working, but are silent when it comes to proposing solutions.

Good thing that Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Terry Moran, and lots of random people lost their jobs, but that Brian Kilmeade gets to keep his after saying homeless people should be killed. Sadly predictable.

Again: there is effectively no law when the law is unable to hold Trump & accomplices accountable. They’re getting away with everything. This is about outcomes - not just what’s on paper.

This. It’s acknowledging the reality of where we are.

I think that quote is more of an implicit call to action that creates real, tangible results (holding Trump and accomplices accountable by the law) instead of symbolic gestures. Simply saying “this is illegal” isn’t enough. The law effectively does NOT matter when there is no legal accountability.

Punishing college students for protesting him.

Pressuring TV networks to fire late night talk show hosts for criticizing him.

Suing newspapers for reporting he doesn’t like.

If this were happening in another country, what would you call it?

So if anti-fascists are Trump’s political enemies, what does that make Trump?
