Two days ago, an act of senseless violence took the lives of Officer Didarul Islam, Wesley LePatner, Aland Etienne, and Julia Hyman.

Today, I visited Officer Islam's family and learned of his legacy.

I ask you to join me in in honoring the memory of these four New Yorkers.

Mamdani Wins Backing of Major Health Care Union That Had Endorsed Cuomo

The members of @1199seiu.org are heroes—saving lives, delivering babies, caring for all us in our time of need. I will stand with them as Mayor.

So grateful to earn this endorsement from the largest healthcare union in the country.

Last weekend, we joined @socialists.nyc volunteer appreciation day to celebrate the thousands of members—old and new—who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and organized day after day for our victory in the primary.

Onward to November and beyond.

More than two thirds of New Yorkers are tenants. Andrew Cuomo compared them to hotel guests.

We need a Mayor who will bring our city together around an agenda to lower costs for everyone, whether they rent or own.

The FARE Act Doomsaying Hasn't Come to Pass—But NYC Real Estate Brokers Are Still Playing Games One month after the bill that banned forced broker fees took effect, renters are still navigating a housing market rife with confusion and trickery.

Thanks to @chiosse.bsky.social and the City Council, the law is crystal clear: if a landlord hires a broker, they pay the fee.

Now the City must actively enforce it.

In 2023, the City Council passed a package of laws expanding access to housing vouchers. Eric Adams vetoed it.

Then the Council overrode his veto. The Mayor refused to implement it. Now a court says he has to.

What a ridiculous waste of time during a housing crisis.
