Which is to move the birdie percentage from 11% to 13%.

That’s gonna be the hardest, but hoping for some more wedges into greens.

We’ll see how it all goes. I’ll update again in 2027.

In the meantime, here’s to a fun year of chasing a little white ball around! 🥂

So what’re the goals associated with that?

I’m actually not setting any around swing speed — I don’t want to incentivize trying to overswing.

But I anticipate added distance will help me hit more greens and score better.

So we’re gonna go for 55% GIR, 75% par or better, and, one bonus goal

Started 2025 at a 2.6. Starting 2026 at a 1.6!

Have improved my par or better % from 66% in 2023, to 69% in 2024, to 72% in 2025.

So what’s on tap to get better in 2026?

We’re gonna chase distance!

Started with the Stack System and am beginning to actually lift regularly to improve strength.

I used to do a recap of golf goals and set new ones for the year on Twitter.

Gonna do the same here!

Last year my goal was to improve my GIR % from 51% to 55%.

I did improve, but only to 53%.

My theory was that the improved ball striking and/or decision-making would lower my index.

It did!

Absolutely cannot put into words how unbelievable what W&M’s women’s basketball team is doing right now is.

Entered conference tourney last week seeded 9th, losers of 7 of their last 8, having never won a conference title.

They’re now CAA champs and 1-0 in the NCAA tourney.

March Magic.

See this right here is why Mina is so great.

Far too often takes on athletes are made in ways that do not separate athletes performance from their existence as human beings.

Mina’s takes always make clear she knows she’s covering people — who happen to play sports. The difference shows.

Anyway, my CEO captured my feelings about this “email us what you worked on or you’re fired” crap far better than I ever would:

Federal salaries are 4% of the budget, so this is not about money.

But even if it were, this playbook from Tech is moronically applied to Feds, who don’t have big salaries and tranches of equity to hold over their heads.

So either Musk is absurdly dumb or he’s trying to make our government fail

Like there’s a great answer about how capitalism aligns value with wealth, so people think wealthy people are smart or whatever.

But I’ve found this clip evergreen

Very, very similar to Killmonger.

Two of the very best “villains”.

They're dismantling the Institute for Education Sciences to create the illusion of meritocracy. Because no data means no evidence of systemic inequities.

The biggest thing I see is a massive, massive jump in the speed at which we can process data.

Has potential to exponentially increase the speed and efficacy of things like cancer research or exploration into renewable energy.

Trump pardoning Blagojevich, stopping the investigation of Adams, and making it legal to bribe foreign governments is sending a clear message:

He’s open for business.

America First, my ass.

But if you’ve been told repeatedly The NY Times has bias, which it does, you start to believe everything it says is a lie — which it isn’t.

So that’s what we’re up against.

And it starts in schools, long before kids can vote. Which is why Trump is attacking the DOE and curriculum.

I spent an hour yesterday talking to one of my former students about tariffs. He said so many things that made my head spin, and as I talked through some of it he goes “you sound exactly like The NY Times” and I was like…

No, I just took a bunch of Econ in college and grad school.

Gen Z learned in school how media has bias. And they internalized it. Which is good — be a critical consumer!

But en masse they haven’t learned how to sort through that bias. So they blindly trust random YouTubers instead because they think traditional media is lying to them.

MAGA exploited that.

Shuttering USAID is bad because of the humanitarian impact AND for the America-first people, *awful* for national security.

Money spent on international development is wildly more effective than defense spending at actually building peace, stability, and good will.

Evil and stupid.

This week was my first week back from parental leave.

My job is all about supporting federal civil servants.

So, uh, been a long week.

Would love some good fantasy or sci-fi book series recommendations.

Most recently read Kingkiller Chronicles and generally liked it as a reference point!

This is why I think her and @rokhanna.bsky.social should be the frontrunners for 2028.

Dems cannot be the party of status quo (or return to status quo). Things are not working well, the middle class is ceasing to exist.

There has to be something meaningful to vote *for*

I am allergic to oranges.

My toddler was demanding to eat one and I told her she couldn’t because it makes me feel sick and she has this very long pause and then goes

“Oranges make Leah feel better”

I am kind of loving it. Just like absolutely no shred of an attempt to win — purely doing things to develop players regardless of practicality.

Like they let Sarr throw up a million threes and any normal coach would’ve been like “pls stop” but instead he’s got a green light

I hope Kuzma is okay, but I can’t help but notice how much better the #Wizards look with him out of the rotation.

For-profit companies and government may sometimes have similar sorts of structures, but they have entirely different purposes.

Boggles my mind how often people try to thoughtlessly replicate corporate best-practices in government and/or education spaces.

It should be criminal to pull this crap.

Question for @minakimes.bsky.social (and anyone else with takes!)

Where’s the tipping point in terms of Broncos wins/Commanders losses where Bo Nix becomes the OROY favorite?

His trek to the right has been stunning.

He has so many positions that are like he thought about an issue and got 75% of the way to empathetically solving a root cause and then just suddenly reached the worst possible conclusion imaginable.

Love that CBS is carrying the #NWSL Championship in primetime on a Saturday night, rather than being relegated to a cable network in favor of a matchup between two mediocre football teams.

Go Spirit!!

Excellent work by the #Wizards vets tonight at building their trade value.

Brogdon and JV both looked like great pieces for a contender and that game was good learning for the rookies. Absolutely ideal outcome for long term, imo. Win would’ve been cool but probably isn’t helpful at this point.
