I fixed the biggest problem with electric bikes If I go for a long ride on my eBike, I can't charge anywhere without carrying it inside. So I came up with a solution. These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.

AI help in grant proposals tied to higher funding odds at NIH But funding proposals to US agencies also tend to be more similar to previously funded projects if they are written or edited with the help of a chatbot.

🧪 AI-assisted NIH grant proposals are 4% more likely to be funded, unlike those at the NSF. These applications often resemble previously supported work. AI tools may favor established patterns over high-risk ideas, which has people concerned it will push submissions towards the mean.

Nigel Farage's Plans to Put Our Democracy on ICE What is happening under Trump could very quickly happen in the UK too

As events in America are now showing, democracies are only as strong as their weakest point. And right now, the weakest point in our own democracy is the continued rise of one Nigel Farage

Meanwhile, Britain finds itself lost between two worlds. We were told we didn’t need Europe, we could rely on the transatlantic relationship. They couldn’t have been more wrong.

In the first instance I’d email them for advice, often we’re doing things 95% in the same way they would. The rest depends on the specialist nature of the service and where it was. Patients can pick where they want to be treated but it can be impractical. We can also make referrals to tertiary.

Optimism is currently unfashionable. The newly published Community Life Survey asks, "do you agree or disagree that this local area is a place where people from different backgrounds get on well together?" I wondered if we might see a sharp decline this year; it has gone down 1%, to 80% agreement.

A flow chart shows 17.4 million leave voters in 2016, vs 16.1m remain. In 2025, 5 million of those people have died, and 3 million new voters have come of age.

The result (plus some people changing their mind) is 19.8 million voters now back rejoin, versus just 11.7 million wanting to stay out.

Absolutely amazing chart from @peterkellner.bsky.social's piece in @thenewworldmag.bsky.social today:

This is how the Mail has covered a 70% fall in net migration.

The Government should stop kidding itself it will ever get credit for being anti-migration. They could cut numbers to zero and there would still be front pages blasting them for making the UK a socialist wasteland no one wants to come to
