Here for political sanity. Since we currently have no way to rein in the radical right media silos of propaganda & lies, this craziness is going to last way past Trump. So strap in. No DMs No Crypto

🚨 A Trump PAC crossed a line. It implied ICE might β€œtrack down” people unless they donate.

That’s coercive, deceptiveβ€”and possibly unlawful. ICE doesn’t answer to campaigns. Donations don’t change your status.

A retired Minneapolis couple who had guns pointed at them by ICE in a church parking lot.

"They were obviously not trained at all. I've known many police officers in my life. These people were right off the streets."

"They had the professional demeanor of criminals."

I helped build DHS. Now we need to deconstruct it. The Department of Homeland Security has been weaponized against the people, the damage has been done, and it's time to go back to the drawing board.

Republican politicians who think that Minneapolis is a political problem are missing the point. It is a moral problem. But they are in so deep that they cannot see just how morally bankrupt they have become. They do not understand that we are as revulsed by their complicity as by Trump's cruelty.

If the people living in America in the 1700s were similar in spirit and courage to the GOP of today, we would still be paying tax to England and ruled by a monarch.

The WSJ editorial board says it was "foolish" for Alex Pretti, a healthcare professional, to have attempted to attend to a woman who was assaulted and gassed by DHS agents. If one of these WSJ editors suffers a heart attack, I hope the EMS unit remembers his comment and acts accordingly.

I do think that a possibly underrated dynamic in The Horrors is that the Right as it has reconstituted itself under Trump legitimately can’t understand sincere moral or physical courage

NEW: Since yesterday's deadly shooting in MN, I've talked to more than half a dozen federal sources involved immigration enforcement, including several in senior positions, who all tell me they have grown increasingly uneasy & frustrated w/ some of the claims & narratives DHS pushed in the aftermath of the shooting.

Specifically, I'm told there is extreme frustration with DHS officials going on TV and putting out statements claiming that Alex Pretti was intending to conduct a "massacre" of federal agents or wanted to carry out "maximum damage", even after numerous videos appeared to show those claims were inaccurate. While they say it was a terrible decision to show up with a gun and inject himself into a federal law enforcement operation, there is no indication Pretti was there to murder law enforcement, as videos appear to show he never drew his holstered firearm.

These sources say this messaging from DHS officials has been catastrophic from a PR and morale perspective, as it is eroding trust and credibility - comparing it to when Democrats falsely claimed the border was closed or that Haitians were being whipped at the border.

Some of these sources have described DHS’ response to the shooting as β€œa case study on how not to do crisis PR”, one said they are so β€œfed up” that they wish they could retire, another said β€œDHS is making the situation worse”, and another added that β€œDHS is wrong” and β€œwe are losing this war, we are losing the base and the narrative."

These sources all believe this is going to end up being what they call a β€œbad shoot”, a β€œshitty” situation that happened in seconds where agents likely heard β€œgun!”, then the disarmed firearm may have had an accidental discharge that spooked the agents, and they shot. The agents do not have the luxury of multiple slow motion angles - and had to make split second decisions.

All of the sources support the mass deportation agenda, but have serious hesitations about the way it is …

Bill Melugin of Fox News may be the best-sourced journalist within ICE and CBP. If he's hearing this, the administration has a real problem.

Where's Alex Pretti's phone?

He was recording during his murder.

Even though the video may not show much, the audio may reveal a lot.

So where's the phone?

I live smack dab in the middle of (R) central. Do NOT mistake the bullshit β€œsupport” for ICE you see on social media that appears to be coming from R's, as something legit. I don’t hear many Republicans in real life saying β€œI support ICE and what they are doing.” Most, that I encounter…are repulsed.

I don’t know that Dems even need specify now what restrictions, limitations, and cuts would be needed to the appropriations bill. Dems can say that it’s the Republicans’ bill, let them suggest amendments to get the votes they need. It’s their responsibility. Dems can respond to their offers.

Senate Dems needn’t come to agreement on everything right now. That’s a path to the lowest common denominator. They simply have to agree to filibuster DHS approps. As to which of a host of anti-brutality and anti-authoritarian proposals to advance, let a thousand flowers bloom.

On Fox, Heritage Foundation's Lora Ries claimed β€œIt's very simple to not be shot by federal agents: don't draw your gun on federal agents," goes on to call the victim a "radical goon"

No reporting/video I've seen has suggested he drew his gun, but that's not stopping people on Fox from claiming it

Charles Hurt: β€œIf the officer can articulate that he believed he heard the words gun, he saw a gun loose, and he thought that there was still an active threat, then that would be a tragic shooting ... but a legally justifiable shooting”

Fox to ICE shooter: We got your back, Jack..Write this down.

Welker: β€œFederal govt is asking them to believe something they don’t see with their own 2 eyes.”

Blanche: Not violent, just not protesting peacefully. "He was screaming in the face of ICE, he was holding a phone right up to ICE’s face, you tell, me was that protesting peacefully?"
