Cases of adult individuals with extra working eyes are very rare

Extra antennae: very very rare, due to it happening only in Royals and there are only a couple hundred Royals globally. Due to its rarity luces believe that individuals with more antennae are holier and closer to heaven

Extra eyes: very rare, yet another form of atavism but unfortunately this one often leaves the individual dead as a stillborn or leaves them with either severe brain deformities or with a set of underdeveloped eyes that often gets removed after birth. +

Longer muzzle: very rare, another form of atavism since luce ancestors had longer snouts +

Saber teeth: rare, luces have rather long fangs naturally but on rare times the teeth don't stop growing for a while, usually they're filed down
Mono-lobe: rare, not a form of atavism as some might assume but rather a failure of the earlobe to split in the embryo stage +

Tail: uncommon, a form of atavism, luce ancestors used to have tails
Extra finger: rare, all vertebrate life on Eara has a maximum of four fingers/toes per limb +

Here are the rarities and more info on each mutation
Dew claw: common, luces have a vestigial fourth toe bone in their feet, sometimes a gene makes it reappear
Clawed toes: uncommon, luces normally have no claws on their feet, claws that appear are often removed or special shoes have to be made +

Also luces are actually close to yet another conflict as people are highly stressed due to the Royals being oppressive
(And also the Royals starting to fight each other)
The age of the Royals will soon be over, hopefully without a conflict tho

Fun fact
Before the Royals gained power and got to the throne the luces went through a great war within themselves
By the end of it they were looking for a new government system
This happened nearly 300 years ago, the Royals have been ruling for that long

A little drawing about luce antennae
Since they're connected to the trigeminal nerve they're prone to headaches and nerve pain

Luce eggs are also quite big, around ostrich egg-sized and very soft
They hold the fetus until it's ready to be born
The newborns are slightly smaller than human newborns but grow fast
They're already born with sharp claws but no teeth

Luces are ovoviviparous; babies grow inside eggs inside the mother and are born fully developed

Luce infants are also physically stronger than human infants, managing to even gallop on all fours in short bursts

Little fun fact, luce intestines are quite shorter that a human's
They struggle at digesting plants and they're primarily carnivorous even tho they can eat almost any type of food just like us
Picture is slightly outdated but still gets the idea across

Some luce anatomy! They have very Earth-like bones made of calcium
And also have a reduced fibula in their legs
They're not quite as flexible as bird legs tho

I'll be posting smaller things too besides the introduction thread
Small specific fun facts
