New dairy farm contractor hails ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’

23-year-old Jordan Duddy has been appointed contract farmer at SRUC’s Acrehead dairy farm after a competitive selection process.

A new sensor developed through a UK-wide programme led by SRUC is helping dairy farmers prevent pneumonia in calves.

Pneumonitor tracks pen-level conditions at calf height and has moved from prototype to commercial product with support from the Digital Dairy Chain.
