I’m not here to slander anyone or direct hate or harassment, I just wanted to give my experience with this vendor as I was upset with the way they conducted business. I hope that this vendor didn’t intend any malice when selling to me as they did say that I was more than welcome to bring the fursuit head to MCM Birmingham if there were any problems. So, when I went to Comic Con on Sunday, I went up to a stall that was ran by LunaUKStudio. They had only one fursuit head left on sale, and I asked them something along the lines of “Are you okay to do a payment plan? Something like Paypal pay in 3?” and they responded with something along the lines of “Yes, that’s fine.” I tried on the fursuit and tail, and all was good. I asked multiple times if a payment plan would be fine, and they kept saying yes. I was fairly overstimulated at this point but that’s normal for cons. When it came time to pay, there were multiple people also trying to buy things from this vendor, because their stuff was really high quality so their attention was directed in multiple different places at once which may have been a contributing factor. I felt rushed because of this, which also contributed to the outcome of what happened. When I began to pay, I noticed they were trying to charge me the full price, which was £650 to which I responded “Are we not doing a payment plan?” At the last moment, they pulled out and said no, they couldn’t do a payment plan. I made the purchase for a few reasons. 1. I felt rushed by the people around me. 2. I was overstimulated (and it didn’t help some random guy tried on my OWN fursuit head without permission) 3. I had made a commitment by trying the fursuit head and the tail on, and I felt that wasn’t something I could get out of at this point. 4. I didn’t want to disappoint the vendor, and I just wanted to get out and get it over with. 5. I felt very pressured by the rushed atmosphere of the stall and by extension, the owner of the stall.
So I ended up buying the fursuit head. I immediately left the con after that on the verge of tears because I was disappointed in myself for not standing up for myself. I contacted them later to see if we could arrange a return or refund and, as I suspected, they wouldn’t return it. I was a little confused at the phrasing they gave which was “I will allow you to resell it” which I didn’t fully understand as I now owned the fursuit head. In summary, I won’t be visiting this stall again and I advise others to be wary when buying fursuits from cons in the future.
Hi,
I'm not usually all that active on here much. I would apologise, but I don't have any followers lmao
Anyway, I wanted to talk about an experience I had with a vendor at MCM Comic Con which I (and a couple of my friends) felt was slightly predatory in their business tactics.
Thank you.
