Any Pokemon fan that believes Nintendo has a right to patent game mechanics is clearly one that praises Nintendo.

Game mechanics should never be patented, no matter what.

You can enjoy Pokemon without siding with the patent nonsense. I know of plenty of Pokemon fans that do, even dating one.

I understand that patenting game mechanics should be illegal and filing those patents months after a game's release shouldn't give that company said right to sue a game for those patents.

Patents that were proven to be fraudulent and are currently in the process of being gutted by the patent office

I'm fine with folks enjoying Pokemon, Mario, etc;

But if folks are gonna blindly praise a company that threatens to sue a charity and push legal action against a store that's recovering from armed robbery, that's not good.

At least I'm making jokes about it, y'all can react however you'd like to.

It was found that one of the patents tied to the monster catching mechanic, but not related to the case, was found to be fraudulently filed. It was for "using a container to capture or summon an enemy." and the dispute for it was filed by Capcom and Studio Wildcard. Nintendo now no longer has it.

Later Nintendo filed a patent at the US Patent office for "having a companion animal out by your side during travel". Which went under investigation after a change in head at the patent office.

Nintendo's patents have already been found fraudulent, as the Japanese office did revoke one recently.

Actually only one of the patents was filed for Pokemon S&V, which was "throwing objects at a character in a game, resulting in an effect".

The other two patents were filed for separate games. While not stated which, it's obvious one was for Mario Kart, and the other Pikmin.

It's funny to everyone except those clutching their Nintendo brand hanafuda cards like pearls.

The more Nintendo continues to patent troll, the more I'll continue to mock them for it. At the very least, I hold no qualms against Pokémon itself, it just needs new ownership.

Either would be an issue. Game Mechanics should be illegal to patent.

I'm simply making a mockery of Nintendo's insane measures to which they'll be as a company.

They've already made patents for throwing objects, riding animals, building armies, and even having a pet.

For them to patent dice would be the least stretch of the imagination.

I betcha they put out a patent for making cubes with symbols on the sides of them too.
