The chipset included is actually an updated and more advanced version of an older one that could handle NDS but not 3DS, so it truly is a matter of being up to the emulator and the operating system. Both can be switched out. I'll be waiting until Knulli releases their OS for this model.

Anbernic just released the page for their RG DS model.

Some folks are critical of the specs, but I'd say it's more than fine. It can run 3DS but can't do anything fancy with it.

directly targeting players who use the skin feels more impactful than not playing, since it involves taking a bannable offense and making it so common the developers have no choice but to get involved since normal moderation won't work.

According to another friend, because I one-shot Carpainter, the game decided to amp up difficulty to compensate. Which is poor game design. A game should never try to compete against a player like that.

My first real experience with gaming was NDS era, where both horrible aspects were toned down over time in favor of making games more approachable for new generations.

The NES era was basically "Turn a Coin Eater Game into an at home game with little change to difficulty."

The GBA era was "Make this game excruciatingly difficult to increase playability."

Then you have the in-between era with the SNES to N64 with both aspects at once.

I think it's easy for folks who grew up with these games to forget that not everyone did, and that way back then, you had to condition yourself to these games, and cheating and guides were normal because the game didn't provide you with anything at all but pain.

I was using a guide and everything, even found an auto kill glitch on Carpainter that wasn't listed in the guide at all. Things were fine, just a little tough, then I got to Threed and everything jumped to a million difficulty. I literally got stuck and I couldn't even go back to Twoson.

Earthbound stream had to end early. Because, surprise, retro games are fucking shit.

I got locked in an area with no ability to backtrack, no money, Paula dead, and no enemies within level range to farm.

Only way for me to progress is to cheat.
