Blue label reading :swiss souvenirs' A woman wears a grey shirt and a dark blue tie with printed white flowers.

This tie is one of the nicest feeling ties I've had, but it's got confusing printed flowers and iss a souvenir of Switzerland. Is the Swiss national flower daisies? Or daffodils?

A champagne cat sits on the lap of a man wearing sage shorts.

Willow has lived with us for 3 years. She's never been a lap sitter. Today, for no apparent reason she climbed onto @headfreak.bsky.social 's lap.

Wooden support spindle, resting on a wooden bowl, resting on a wooden floor. Blue and white rolag of silk and wool filling the spindle, part of the unspun rolag cushioning the shaft of the spindle so it doesn’t touch the floor.

“How do you meditate?” She asked.
“Light a candle and breathe.” He said.
At the time, she was disappointed by the answer.
Now, she understands it.

A woman wears a pink shirt with a burgandy tie and green individual Paisley patterns.

I had a meeting today, led by a stylish woman who used to be my manager. I wore a relatively restrained bad tie, because I too have style. Not good style, statement style.

It was one of those days when nothing goes right. I managed to hit a button that wasn't there in the lift, and instead of taking me to the fourth floor, it took me four worlds sideways.

I've gotten used to it here, but I really miss dodo burgers.

A woman in a floral shirt wears a blue tie with a pattern of polar bears on it.

I had meetings today so I thought this tie might pass for normal. It is very long and has both blond and shadow polar bears on it. No-one looked too closely.

Halfway though
The Valley of Vengeful Ghosts by Kim Fu and I can't work out of I am more tense or more sad. It's giving me Mexican Gothic vibes.

Two birds, one male and bright green and one female and grey on a desicated lawn. There is metal temporary fencing behind them, and behind that stacks of car tyres.

I don't know what kind of birds these are, but I thought tropical birds on a formula one Grand Prix race track being built? What could be more urban?

Under a blue sky with fluffy clouds is a hill covered in patchy grass with the birds described above just about visible. Trees to the left and a glimpse of sea on the right.

On my run today I saw galahs, pigeons and a raven all on a hill together at the beach. This photo makes it look like the country. It's not, it's St Kilda!

Yes. And many of the major publishers only do pdfs and it's a crappy trading experience. I don't even request PDFs anymore.

A cockatoo perches on an electric pole. In the background is a road and some greenery.

This cockatoo is squawking away outside my flat. I can't see any of his buddies, which is really unusual, normally they fly round in a rowdy gang of 20 or so.

I just read and reviewed the audiobook of Little One by Olivia Muenter. I'm not sure my review fully demonstrates how compelling and interesting this cult based novel is. Just a really good book that I highly recommend.

Melbourne MVP Backyard Ultra 2026 YouTube video by camera gadget other

I run 33 KMs at a backyard ultra, while aiming for 46. @headfreak.bsky.social ran a rather ridiculous 80kms. Our friend and crew member Skip made a video about it.

A noisy mynah on a dirt ground with rocks.

We spent the night in Brimbank Park, running a backyard ultra. When dawn came we heard magpies singing and kookaburras laughing. As we were packing up these noisy mynahs came eat any crumbs they could find.
