I highly recommend the @lionsledbydonkeys.bsky.social episode on the Battle of Athens, about a Tennessee sheriff and allies that did poll intimidation and other stuff to rig the system

I spent most of the time listening to this both horrified and disassociating as more and more preventable bad things happened. Then the mustard gas showed up.
