Yeah the role of the committee is to synthesize the opinions of the external people; quotable quotes are ESSENTIAL. Write some quotable summary quotes at the ends or beginnings of paragraphs, or at the end of your letter.

I tried this with Chat GPT and it switched to passives and nominalizations; gave it much more of a feeling of reportage. That might be bad or good, I dunno, but I think the inclination to attribute self-awareness to it was lessened.

in our discussions with A/V at the hotel it first looked way out of reach for $$, but now with an alternative A/V company it looks like we'll be on the bubble of affordability . It would have been WAY better to know before the abstract deadline closed but it is as quick as it could possibly be.

Yes makes sense. We are devastated, and working toward a setup that might allow international colleagues to partially participate virtually this year. If it’s a success maybe a broader rollout next year. Not a fix obviously but something to keep us connected to the broader community. Stay tuned.
