I'm also tired of hearing "the genie is out of the lamp" or "can't put the toothpaste back in the tube" because that's fundamentally wrong and ignores so much history and why legislation exists in the first place.

I think it's really easy to conflate the good things it *can* be used for and the things that it's actually used for. We don't live in a world where you can take these companies in good faith. We don't have the regulations in place for any of this.

I'm not sold that genAI is "the future" the way these companies and honestly, most people in my life, are trying to sell me. I'm constantly asking where things are "efficient" with AI and where people care more about the end result product than the process.

We don’t use generative AI at Strange Scaffold and I can confirm that a *lot* of other studios are not—whether indie or AAA.

Genuine question: Is there a reason you recommend Wordpress over hosting something on the indie web like Neocities? I had my Wordpress site for over a decade but got priced out of hosting and have been looking at alternatives.

I think this is less a "variety doesn't understand what this means" and more of "trying to force a joke that *really* doesn't work" but in either situation having a negro in the room would have prevented this

The Democrats won several VA House seats where winning looked like a pipe dream going into the election. The Dems won these seats because they recruited candidates and actually campaigned. Important lesson for 26--the electorate is pissed--but you can only win when you run. Run everywhere!
