The main thing I'm getting from actually playing it is that even though it looks like a Balatro clone, it's really more of a very paired down management sim and it does give me some of the same feeling of the PC games I used to play as a kid
It's getting there. I'm starting to enjoy playing it and feeling the mechanics working well together. Actors with higher star power cost most but make more, and then there's multipliers added each time an actor works with the same co-stars and directors, or in the same genre

I'm sure some existed in the UK but drive-in theatres have always felt like such a mythical and romantic thing to me. Something that only exists in films set in a different time and a different place

In terms of difficulty scaling, currently the actors all ask for more money the further you get, but their base takings remain the same. On one hand I think that's kinda funny but it means that the game ends with you just slowly hemorrhaging funds until you can't afford to go on
That is *sort* of an unintentional mechanic that's come out of not having any other way to get rid of the "poison" cards in your hand

Since becoming unemployed been keeping myself busy by prototyping a game that's a cross between Balatro and The Movies. I haven't decided if the game is very fun at all yet and could certainly use some razzle dazzle, but working on it HAS been fun
