One day after refusing to go to a friend's funeral (who had been ill for quite a long time) Michael's mum actually told us she didn't want to linger, she just wanted to drop dead one day then actually did a few weeks later. She was over 90 though

Oh I do that sometimes. And the really daft thing is I used to work not far from there & drove regularly (I car shared). I'm just not thinking awfully straight just now.

Thank you. It didn't bother me in the past. I can still see fine in daylight and I manage at night in places I know well but I wouldn't drive somewhere strange in the dark

I've had another look at the drive to the hospital & it would actually be doable while avoiding the bit of motorway I'd not be happy with. It's just that all the directions seem to send you that way. All I'd have to worry about then would be finding somewhere to park.

We were due to have a discussion with someone from the hospice outreach service on Monday but that was postponed. The problem is that the local hospital doesn't have a urology department so he's in another hospital in the trust.

You never quite realise how messy dying can be until you're up close & personal. I understand my late MiL's desire to "just drop dead one day" and I'm actually pleased she managed to do just that. It was a shock but overall easier to cope with

It takes me about 2 hours to get to the hospital & 2 hours home. I could do with time just to sort stuff out at home. I've got phone calls to make too and not the kind of stuff you want to talk about in public. I need a plan.

Michael still in hospital. They're worried about his kidney function at the moment & looking for ways to help stop or slow the bleeding from his bladder. We're in another "wait & see" situation

I can't find anything at home at the moment. I keep turning stuff upside down trying to find something before I have to rush off & I'm too tired & it's too dark to tidy properly when I get in.

Lost of praise for Emma Barnett's interview with Tice this morning. From what I've seen of her she's not exactly liberal omn most issues. Again I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing

Bought an M&S Chinese meal for 2 in a box for tea. For 3 of us. But we have cake for afters
