I love this one - Bluetooth is a temporary project code name that stuck.
It was the nickname of a medieval king who united Scandinavia who was famous for his dead blue tooth.

I'd love to hear what great new tracks and albums you find in year end lists. Also, if you have a great EOY list I missed, please link it below.
I've been compiling a playlist of new songs I've found on these lists that I like. Find it here --> open.spotify.com/playlist/3nO...
And to head off the basement music critics, Im not endorsing the overall quality of these lists or saying that they nailed the rankings perfectly.
I like these lists because they make it really easy to quickly review a strong set of music published this year - much of which I might have missed.
Other lists I've enjoyed this cycle @pitchfork.com's Top 100 Songs and The Ringers Top 30 Albums.

Fantano's lists are currently being published this week, so I can't link each one, but he'll do a bunch like Best Tracks and Best Albums as well as the Worst Tracks and Worst Albums.
There's a little bit of all types of music in there, so if you're interested in EOY lists, it's a good start.
I found this song on Fantano's 'The Needle Drop' YouTube channel, where he does year-end lists each December, and the playlists are then community-submitted to Spotify and Apple Music.
Looking through the comments of the Herberts On Holiday video, it looks like I'm not the only one on this path..
First off - my top song played this past year from my #spotifywrapped was found on a year-end list from December 2023.
So it's very possible to find absolute gems that stick even when you're looking for them.
That song is Herberts on Holiday by Spiritual Cramp --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQCp...
I talked about it in my post about how to easily continually find new music you dig (joeyplunkett.ghost.io/find-new-mus...), but I love December because so many music outlets year-end lists of best tracks, albums, and I artists drop.
In this thread, I'll explain why they're a great resource.
Other lists I've enjoyed this cycle Pitchfork's Top 100 Songs (pitchfork.com/features/lis...) and The Ringers Top (theringer.com/2024/12/11/m...)

Really enjoyed @jamesclear.bsky.social’s newsletter today, especially this gem:
'Two simple rules:
You get better at what you practice.
Everything is practice.'
A powerful lens to view our actions through—a reminder that every step we take reinforces who we're becoming
hahah amazing. Saving both of them.

11.12.2024 19:53 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Why does it always seem like podcasters use different/worse mics for the ad reads?
Voices are buttery smooth for the pod then as soon as they start talking about Better Help it’s recorded via tin can.
I often times get to shows kinda late, so checking the shows subreddit is full of landmines/spoilers.
I do still want to be able to see the discussion up to the point of the episode I just watched.
Here's how I fix that problem with a simple google search.

And crash reporting is the way you document the evidence so you can explain it to the jury!

The one that comes to mind is zombo.com (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombo.com)
It's an interesting list with some useful stuff on it. Disappointed not to see a shoutout for my new favorite travel app, Flighty (flighty.com). Hard to explain how nice it is until you use it for a few flights. Having all that info in one easy-to-access and well-designed space is awesome.

Just a lovely cap from Middlestate Coffee in Denver. Tasted as good as it looks.

Nice! I've got A Wizard of Earthsea loaded up on my Kindle for when I finish The First Law Series (currently on #2).
I haven't read anything from Ursula yet - am I starting in the right place?
Is that the Saga series (imagecomics.com/comics/serie...) middle shelf on the right?
Great collection! What are you reading now?
