Most of my struggles is that short story magazine waiting anxiety. Subbing something then being like “Wait, was this a good idea?”

It’s the problems of your creative group literally being so multidisciplinary we don’t crossover lmao. It’s alpha readers at most lol.

Here here! The biggest problem is trying to inventive of the dishes, because the story is the prep stage, the Autopsy of Jane Doe but cooking the body, if you will.

100%. I think it’s mainly because the family watched Atlantis as it aired. Like I remember SG-1 aired at a weirdly early time for me.

Oh god, but watching Atlantis that means watching a 26-year-old Jason Momoa and feeling old too.

Not in the US, apparently.

I might crack open Atlantis, tho. Got all that on DVD, and just the first and last for SG-1

Man, I gotta rewatch SG-1. I literally only remember S1 and fishing and the one ep in the post-Jack O’Neil seasons where they float TV scripts.

Nothing like waking up in a cold sweat, wondering, 80+ days post submission, did I actually make that short story submission anonymous as the guidelines said?

Wish me luck that this post-Slasher short actually finishes editing by the time I sub it lmao.

I got nothing on the gothic recs, but for contemporary mystery, anything by Anthony Horowitz or Stuart Turton. Robert Jackson Bennett has a pair of super solid fantasy detective novels that’s like Sherlock Holmes if it was set in an Attack on Titan-like world in a sense.

I’m doing the same old, same old. Playing Blue Prince, going through Cassavete’s and Yasujiro Ozu’s filmography, wishing bad luck on my enemies.

People would clone themselves for many reasons, mine is just to write so I can produce everything I want. Short story me, MG me, mystery idea me, etc.

Thanks! If there’s anything I am, it’s a constantly-suffering idea machine that has to think of new ideas on a whim. They’ll be get out eventually, they just get born then put in cryo-sleep.
