You know, it was pretty cool of the narrative & character folks on my Dishonored 2 team to include a trans character. I actually have no idea if they consulted anyone or just sort of vibed their way into doing it pretty well.

Getting to be a girl FEELS like a privilege.

I know the resources we use to express those manifestations of self are a privilege to have.

But the quintessential truth of gender is you can just decide to be a girl, and nobody can stop you.

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.

In case it helps: Apple hates certain browsers, and seems useless unless you're using the dedicated apple tv app.

I was surprised that my much older brother has never had a chance to leave the country. I'm now trying to figure out where would be good for a starting trip (in Europe) for someone who is very gay and very dramatic and gets distracted by shiny things very often

It was 2013-16. I knew exactly who I was but was very very deep in the closet. I just watched from the sidelines, too terrified to let on that they secretly had a trans woman on their dev team, as they somehow got it right anyway.

There's so many trans people I'll never forget.
Even though they may not be here physically, they will always exist because they did exist.
They lived and people cared for them. They changed peoples lives and impacted and helped so many others being themselves 💙🏳️‍⚧️
