A couple of #BranchBirds for #BirdOfTheDay, a couple of Robins either singing or taking flight, a Stonechat and a Wren

Luckily the boosters hide the seams of the core stage so I'm not spending too much time cleaning them up. Normally I'm impatient when it comes to rocket launches but the longer the real thing delays the more time I get to finish this π
When you check your references and realise the real thing has texture and your kit doesn't, it's time to improvise #HistScaleModels #ScaleModels #Airfix
Airfix Artemis build update, you can tell it's one of their new kits as it is going together like a dream, an almost Lego like fit. The core stage is primed, next up boosters to prime and the upper stage to complete (1:72 bf109 for scale) #HistScaleModels
Next kit on the bench, the race is on to see how much I can finish before the real thing launches #HistScaleModels #BuildTheStash
I'm liking this offline validation π #HistScaleModels
Thanks Rob
Thanks Ville, you're very kind.
Thanks Richπ
Thanks josh
Thanks Dave
Thanks Moz
Thanks Rachel, it's this Academy kit.
Thanks Stef
Many mistakes were made and lessons learned but I'm happy with how the SBD-5 turned out #HistScaleModels , now on to #BuildTheStash
I almost always build out of the box, my one exception was to buy 3rd party rotor restraints so I could keep my Lynx both compact and sturdy. Good luck with the build π
We have colour, time for some gloss so I can get the decals on #HistScaleModels
For these small bombs I can never get tape to stick or line up properly
It's O-Rings all the way when it comes to masking bombs #HistScaleModels
Went with the masking fluid option for the chipping on the bottom and honestly I'm not sure it worked that well, might just try hairspray again on the top. #HistScaleModels
Thanks, will check it out π
I've got some chipping pencils but don't really get on with them. I paint chips on armour, but only because the inevitable mistakes are easier to hide under mud and weathering π«£.
Seems I have 3 options, don't chip, use the Vallejo paint from a previous build, or apply masking fluid instead of hairspray to remove the lacquer. Should be happy I realised before applying the Alclad.
I don't think I thought this through, halfway through applying hairspray for chipping I realised I was planning on using Alclad lacquer for the top coat, I don't suppose the hairspray technique works with lacquer paint? #HistScaleModels
First base coat on, ready for the now dispensed hair spray #HistScaleModels
Thanks Paul, this was my take @andrewr.bsky.social , guess I'm not the only one who got the kit as a Christmas present?
First finished build of 2026. I'm assuming Stegosaurus would be a little bit dirty in real life. #HistScaleModels
Engine installed, time to get it cleaned and covered. The race is on to get it finished before the middle of February for my newly found local IPMS club group build #HistScaleModels
Time to close up the cockpit on the SBD-5 #HistScaleModels
I think that will do on the AFV Club Mk VII Churchill tank. A very nice kit, if a bit tricky in places...Iβll make another of their Churchill tanks at some point I reckonβ¦
