I enjoyed the wood block printing, but the fashion show snaked through a whole section of the house and made it hard to move around.

It was my first after hours event (except Christmas at Kew) and not sure if I'd go back for another!

It didn't feel well organized (sent us to the wrong gate requiring an extra 30 minute walk), was overcrowded, had limited food options, and only allowed access to the smallest area of the gardens.

Went to Kew Gardens last night for Orchids After Hours. It was interesting, but I would recommend seeing Orchids during the day instead. The lighting didn't do much for the flowers and the programming was a bit meh.

You have to resist that pull and invest energy into making sure you have the time to do the things you want to do.

So I annoyed myself when I said “I don’t have time” because it’s not true. I didn’t make the time. Me. Through my decisions. I should have said “I haven’t made the time yet.”

I feel like a lot of people think about time wrong. Been bugging me since I talked about side projects the other day and was complaining about it.

I had to remind myself that at no point in my adult life has time been given to me, or materialised out of nowhere. You have to actively create time.

Weep not, for thrill is in the noble pursuit. You will find pens that closely approach the perfection you seek, close enough to strengthen your resolve to seek further.

I find I can do deep, difficult analytic work for some amount of time followed by some people/management work. I seem to have a different reserve for creative work and sometimes can do several hours post work.

I straight up don't believe anyone who says they do actual, brain-involving work 12 hours a day. After about hour 5, I am an empty vessel with no remaining thoughts. I can do like email at that point, but any real thinking is done until tomorrow

🤔 I wonder how long it takes to feel like you're your new nationality? I don't identify as British. I'm also still American.

I'm an old school programmer who LOVED the CLI, but I also LOVE the IDE.

Haven't been orchestrating swarms of agents yet, but feels like it's easier to have multiple "threads" going in the CLI instead of an IDE — which is more of a 1:1 experience of implementing a thing in focused mode.

Do not make art if you don't enjoy the process of slowly getting better at making art. That is the gate. Consider yourself kept.

I was in the market for basics and got some great pieces!
