CHARACTER PLAYLIST (WIP)

Ume let out a noise of surprise, taken off guard by the kiss. Though, he quickly kissed her in return.

Ume sat at a park underneath a tree, painting new ofuda for himself to use.

It was a nice atmosphere where he assumed he wouldn’t be bothered by anyone as everyone else had more important matters to attend to there than to bother the shoukera youkai in his work.

He sat down beside her and began to rub her shoulders, pressing his thumbs down against the muscles.

Ume laughed, smiling warmly.

“Of course. I am sure that you exhausted yourself. You do not really pray, do you?”

He went to retrieve the water and ibuprofen from the kitchen, bringing it to her.

“Well, I suppose that is all I can ask, is that you try…”

“Did you really? I am honored…”

Ume seemed surprised by that. Though, his heart fluttered knowing that Tori had prayed for him.

“Do you need me to get you water and ibuprofen?”

“But your reaction is too cute.” he tilted his head a little, smiling.

“Now, you will behave and think better of yourself, yes?” he teased.

Ume wrapped his arms around her tightly, nuzzling against her.

“I do not think he will be bothering you anymore.”

Ume can’t help but to notice the sudden change. It brings a laugh out of him.

“Ah, I see. I just need to be more forward with you and you will listen to me.”

He reached over to pat Rose on the head.

“Good boy.”

“Oh? Talking back now are we? How rebellious,” he teased.

Ume hummed softly as he gently poked a finger onto Rose’s forehead.

“There is no one better than you. To be with me means we are equals— you are equals with an angel. The same league, if you will.”

“Nonsense!” Ume shook his head. “Do not talk like that. I chose you, so you should think of yourself better.”

Once inside, the nagamaki dissolved into light and so did Ume.

He reappeared in the bedroom, unharmed.

“See? I am well and alive.” he smiled.

Ume placed a hand onto his own cheek, just about swooning.
