I'm also fascinated by our teaching spaces and how they don't really enable us to move furniture etc.
If you are able to, it's worth thinking about how to use and move the physical space around too

Heyyy, UG teaching is hard.
I've accepted there's a lot of things I can't control.
Id say for long sessions, can you incorporate some time to reflect, chat to neighbour about learning etc as anything over 50mins is a long time to pay attention in a windowless lecture theatre

In 2023 it was decided that after 12+(?) years of Cheltenham science festival Iβd take a year off in 2025.
Anyway, I failed. And ended up on stage anyway. π
Lovely to have a fleeting visit to my #SciComm home. Next year already being plotted!

Academics are nervous about media relations - being misinterpreted or misquoted says @emmayhnell.bsky.social at #uksg2025 but βwe need to inspire the next generationβ and get better at measuring the wider impact of research and communication

Really good point from @emmayhnell.bsky.social about better training needed for academics to communicate their research well - and more motivation / reward needed for reaching broader audiences #uksg2025
