Curious what nearby tornados sounds like? While we can't see the funnel itself, the 03/10/2026 Kankakee twister was close enough to hear its explosive roar. Many compare the sound of a tornado to a freight train or jet engine.

The National Weather Service in Chicago has given the Aroma Park/Lake Village #tornado a preliminary EF-3 rating. "A EF-3 tornado tracked 36.6 miles from W of Aroma Park, IL to near DeMotte, IN. This is the tornado that caused 2 fatalities near Lake Village."

I have been unable to find any sort of memorial or donation resource for the final deceased victim, 12-year-old Silas Anderson from Edwardsburg, MI.

Todd and Becky McClellan also lost their lives this last weekend, in the EF3 tornado that impacted the west side of Beggs, Oklahoma. The community mourns their loss, while aiding their son, Ace, who is still in the hospital healing from critical injuries sustained in the same storm.
Pennie Jo Guthrie, 65, was the third victim of the Union City EF3+. She leaves behind a surviving step-mother, five children, and countless grandchildren. Donations in her memory can be sent via the funeral home's donation portal.
Bill Akers, 63, lost his life in the same Union City twister, and all proceeds honoring his life have been requested to go to the local tornado relief and recovery fund, sponsored by the Branch County United Way.
Keri Johnson lost her life in the Union City, Michigan EF3+ that tore through the small village. She leaves behind her husband, Scott Johnson, who also lost his entire home and all of his belongings.
Jodie and Lexi Owens were the mother and daughter who lost their lives near Fairview, OK, when an EF2 tornado tossed their vehicle off of US Route 60. They leave behind a loving husband/father and 7 children/siblings.
To the good folk of BlueSky: Before the next wave of severe weather hits tomorrow, I want to take a moment and share a few vetted fundraisers and charities accepting donations for the families of the March 5th-7th tornado outbreak victims in Michigan and Oklahoma.
