Good show, but feels too strongly reliant on one character. Akane is easily the best, and the next best characters are all mainly that due to being able to eat off how good she is.

It's definitely enhanced on a second watch, so well put together technically, so many strong parallels. And the entire last 4 episodes just get elevated even higher than they already are. Fantastic stuff

The fact that Haji is as good as it is, and doesn’t really compete is insane. It is more or less the best at everything in the series. I’m really mindfucked right now.

12. The End of Evangelion (Rewatch)
Similar experience to the anime all around, relative to my first time through for both. That is to say, still very easily among my favourites but now I find myself better understanding what is being said and why it affects me on a personal level.

11. Everything Everywhere All At Once
Really fantastic movie, with a strong premise and visuals combining with a great story about family and what we're really here for. Should've watched this sooner I think maybe.

10. Devil May Cry Episode 1 (Netflix)
It takes them 1 minute and 37 seconds to bring up US politics. They talk about the radical left and Asmongold shows up within 11 minutes.

9. Neon Genesis Evangelion (Rewatch)
I have far too much to say, but I'll hold off until after EoE. This is still among my favourite anime, but I now feel like i understand it a lot better from both a narrative and presentation standpoint.

8. The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift (Rewatch)
Looks better than the other two but until the end the aura is still lacking. It is however also thing, Japan and so it's perfect.

A better movie, however the lack of Dominic Toretto is a lack of aura
