Right before T-giving break, my #APWorld students did a “Franken-empire” project taking what they learned in Unit 3: Land-Based empires, and creating the “perfect” empire. Here are some of them…love discovering the artistic students, they aren’t always the most academic, and this is there moment! 🗺️

Pupils' ability to recall learning at a later date, can be improved by sharing with pupils the retrieval cue.

This is the process of showing pupils how learning is connected, or making the expert schema explicit.

This Friday is Native American Heritage Day.
A great resource is the "Native Land Digital" site - native-land.ca
Put in any address (such as where you live) to see which indigenous peoples lived in that location.
Then click on the links for those nations to learn more about them.

Teachers need training. They need PD. They need opportunities to read articles, watch videos, and observe how it’s done in other classrooms. They need strategies to disrupt the cycles of action & reaction plus time to process so the shifts become ingrained in their practice.

EdTech and genAI often feel like people decided “if you can’t beat them, join them” was a good idea and threw away everything we know about child development, learning, and neuroscience. Some EdTech is good. Some really popular EdTech and genAI is awful. #EduSky
