The "push down" curriculum in elementary has been a disaster for those with a lot of curiosity. Would like to see what gets recommended as needed changes. Our educational system rewards sitting still, copying and "being good" from starting in K - which used to be fun back in my day. Now, it's rote.

Venturing a guess-just like the health care subsidies, the R's will subvert any deal made about DHS/ICE funding and the Epstein files will remain hidden from view. Whether that deal is made to avoid or after a shutdown, they'll twist it into something else and walk away laughing.
