Yeah, I have noticed the increase in the last month or two too. There are probably even more factors (including the political situation of Japan right now with regards to opinions on the rest of the world) that are slowly impacting these kinds of decisions. :(

Yes. A lot of Japanese sites are blocking the UK due to the Online Safety Act, many turning up their blocking of Europe following an alleged GDPR case, and a few now need a VPN to Japan to access.

I mean, I'm not going to question the choices of an individual if they want to do that but going and telling the world it's fine is… questionable.

I suspect there are at least two separate writing teams on this game and one of them very clearly came from Honkai Impact 3rd Part 1 because they are obsessed (in a good way) with exploring the internal struggles and conflicts of being a person that attracted me to the series in the first place.

Honkai Star Rail has some of the most intense writing whiplash of any game I've played. One patch will have the worst “look at the cute girls and hot boys” writing known to humanity and then the next will drop non-stop bangers introspecting on the concepts of identity and masks.

Also after the whole “toxins in protein powders” thing that turned out to be basically background noise levels of detection, I'm ultra suspicious as to what the measured levels are that “we found X in Y” claims are based on.

I do find it suspicious that I'm struggling to find the source data for this testing. Only articles with similar quotes from the Daily Mail and a website that uses a lot of emotional language but seems to lack substance.

(I was just genuinely curious to see what was tested and how each one did.)

The game you are about to play is a product of its time. It may depict the PS3, which was commonplace in society. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today.

I am getting a little tired of the open willingness to completely misrepresent base evidence and write off entire pieces of media and studios over this level of stuff.

Having an opinion is fine, practically lying to hate is not.
