Worse. This comment came AFTER my presentation in which I showed the evidence that fear of punishment as a deterrent for drug use doesn't work!
Reliance on 'Intuitions' (in the face of contrary evidence), I guess.

Spoke on 'Drug Decriminalization' in Psychiatry Association Nepal conference. Everytime I find at least 1 person who later - in private - expresses concern: 'more youth'll take drugs if decriminalized'.
As if only fear of arrest keeps youth away from drugs! Misconceptions galore.

Even those who enjoy alcohol in small (?) quantities, should be aware of risks involved.

Had fun presenting "Motivation Enhancement" at the Bombay Psychiatric Society event, on 17 Nov. Entire program focusing only on psychosocial interventions for #addiction. That was refreshing.
