Thinking an awful lot about these bubbies and how much I missed woodfiring....
This is just leaked for the NSF but I'm sure this will most likely be applying to more then just them...
Originally grabbed from this account, but this is a list of banned or flagable terms and words if you're working with federal grants.
My favorite part of having ADHD is being completely productive on all my side quests instead of the things I need to work on like applications, or updating my website, maybe even writing my newsletter. Instead I've been sewing all day and making an outline for a different project...
Worried about a fascist takeover? This sheet-pan paella will make you feel like you’re in 1930s Spain.
Before you ask, "Do you still use their screams to sleep?" That is for you to guess and my dear sweet hearted Tomas to know...
Was telling my sweet dear Tomas about that one time I was on Inside Appalachia, and how I'd go on tinder dates where the people would google me before hand and ask if I really needed cicada screams to fall asleep. Any way here's that link

I love the screams of the cicadas and the metaphors they present. Little critters underground burrowing, creating air in soil, feeding off dead bits of trees. Making everything work; they remind me of miners back home. Eventually they come to the surface to be fed on, destroying themselves.

Going to start migrating all my work over this way.
Im thinking alot about women in social movements, labour, textiles, and monuments. How do respect the memories and work of women like Eva Perón, Ella May Wiggins, Mother Jones.
Im you resident Appalachian academic, artist, storyteller, holler woman, making art about Mountain folklife. You'll find me reconciling the land-based practices I grew up with and the effects of extractive industries, exploring ideas of Appalachian identity, making art with Fungi.
