Just another watercolor landscape… This is an “orphan well”; an oil or gas well that has been abandoned at some point. There are an estimated 29 million worldwide and of thousands of them in the US. Uncapped they continue to release methane gas and oil pollution.

Saw this on an early morning walk this week so I painted it. I used to play down there when I was about 12, crawling through the tunnels… which was about 62 years ago😆
