Follow-up question for authors on Discord: do you have a "content calendar" for your server or do you let things happen organically?

I forgot to mention it but i met my deadline the other day and i think i deserve a treat for it

They can be (and often are, especially in the context around trafficking rings) about power, violence, and/or control.

Another thing I haven't seen mentioned around the lowkey LGBTQphobic discourse featuring Trump and that BJ (and i'm speaking as a social psychologist and sex therapist) is that sex, and sex acts, aren't always about sex, or about orientation/identity at all.

One day i'll sit down and talk about all the biases and shit authors have to deal with when they write in their second language that's completely dependent on their country/what their first language actually is (eg, perception of authors from Nordic countries vs authors from Hispanic countries)

and most people won't be too knowledgeable on your niche/audience anyway, so it might be best not to delegate

Being an indie author also means an inner battle between wanting to come up with the best content calendar, and just wanting someone to do it for you, but then you panic because it's important that your content calendar isn't too generic, 🧵

publishing spaces are already full of those people and make shit super isolating for the rest of us

When someone points out that sapphic romance exists in reference to how one can't say that queer romance is commonly referred to as MM romance (ie, sapphics are queer too!), and your response is to double down on all the different men MM romance is about, that's... a choice
