Look what I found at my mini-pond in my garden. I believe it's a blue-tailed #damselfly, and I would be happy if any expert could confirm this.

Paper submitted that should have been submitted a few years ago, but always got delayed.

Oh great. Overleaf has AI as well? And it works just as expected. First it hallucinates a problem that doesn't exist. Then it suggest a fix that doesn't work. And finally, it wants money for more 'helpful' suggestions.

Yeald of our solar modules over time today. There are many short, but deep dips caused by clouds, and one broader dip of about 18% caused by the solar eclipse.

Unfortunately, it was a bit cloudy today, but one can see clearly see the effect of the partial #eclipse on the yield of our solar modules. The Sun was covered about 20% at the maximum here near Cologne/Bonn.

Hieße es "Schon wieder hat ein Katholik seine Frau umgebracht", da würde man zu Recht fragen, was ist denn das für eine merkwürdige Überschrift? "Schon wieder ein Syrer" erscheint hingegen völlig normal. Dabei können weder Religion noch Nationalität einen Mord erklären. Sobald die Herkunft nicht genannt wird, wirkt das heute auf manche wie eine klaffende Lücke, wie ein bewusstes Verschweigen. Aus kriminologischer Sicht ist die Nationalität hingegen völlig unerheblich. Kein Mensch begeht Verbrechen, weil er Deutscher ist oder Türke oder Afghane.“

Jetzt eine ganz dumme Frage: Wenn Herr Merz die Verteidigungsausgaben von zwei auf 3% erhöhen möchte und das aber mit Wirtschaftswachstum bezahlen will, werden dann nicht auch die versprochenen Mehrausgaben im gleichen Maße steigen 🤔

- Global Ionospheric Total Electron Content (TEC) maps are also provided by NASA (jplg). There are alternatives (esag, codg, igsg), but I'm not sure how good or reliable they are.

@vicgrinberg Yes, almost as bad as a meeting on Hawaii. But I could imagine that the backlash from this helped with the decisions.

The #AAS had announced that the summer meeting 2026 will be held at a central location and the summer meeting in 2027 will be fully online to reduce the carbon footprint of the meetings. This is a small step in the right direction, and I hope that other organizations follow this example.
