I love seeing "you're the next stop" while seeing the person driving away from me on the map

I printed it and stuck self-adhesive copper tape to it. There's copper tape with conductive adhesive so you can add multiple overlapping pieces and it counts as one conductive surface.

Then I used the second part of the mold to shape the copper, so that it sticks inside the recessed traces.

Then I used sandpaper to file away at the raised ridges. The copper traces are now electrically independent of each other. Done!

But if I want, I can remove the extra copper tape.

The companion mold at the bottom. This second 3D-printed part pushes the copper tape down into the recessed trace channels so it conforms to the shape. The two parts sandwich together with alignment spikes to keep everything registered.

I made a tool that turns PCB designs into 3D-printable molds. you sandwich copper tape between the parts, sand the ridges, and you have a real working PCB. no etching, no chemicals. I am losing my mind

these people need to be shown how readily most consumer-grade 3d printer filaments fail (ie melt or even just sag/deform) well before the temperatures a firearm can generate.

I'd wager that other than "glock switch" there is 0 data about "ghost guns" themselves.

apparently cussing on the @bambulabglobal.bsky.social subreddit gets the automod in a tizzy and it removes your post

well fuck you, too

I either have no issues whatsoever 3d printing or I have a series of problems ranging from minor to disastrous. there is no in-between

failed print because @bambulabglobal.bsky.social filament was tangled and it overloaded the AMS motor.

thanks guys, good looking out.

Funnily enough, had tangle issues with some @elegoo.bsky.social filament and someone claims Elegoo is one of the makers of Bambu Lab filament.

cute.

you just reminded me that before COVID we had a local game store that sold 40k stuff for 20% off because the owner was all "it's too damned expensive"

I miss that place.

I also need to test out the resin printer I was given.

Do you have a preferred place to purchase your books from? I jailbroke my Kindle so I can use basically any format with Koreader >_>

Discovery felt more like watching Star Wars imo. Modern Trek is basically breaking a prime rule of science fiction. Make your tech consistent.

NX-01 Enterprise warp core was horizontal, like the ToS Enterprise originally. It subtly linked the older ship to its 23rd century counterpart

17.02.2026 21:22 — šŸ‘ 0    šŸ” 0    šŸ’¬ 1    šŸ“Œ 0

exactly, it was just so weird to me. Discovery was especially jarring.

SNW isn't without its tech sins, either. I'm not saying they had to 100% adopt the ToS aesthetic, but I'd be totally fine dropping things like tapes XD

the developers and builders are not the problem, those people need to realize that and bark up another tree. if they outlawed corporations from buying houses and renting them to people the problem would sort itself out relatively quickly.

17.02.2026 20:52 — šŸ‘ 0    šŸ” 0    šŸ’¬ 0    šŸ“Œ 0

but they will still sell that 3d-printed house at or near market value and not cheaper. they'll just pocket more money

I've become very jaded about how much waste an AMS-style color changer can produce. It seemed so amazing the first time I used it. And for my own personal design purposes it's fine. I will never design something with 100+ color changes or anywhere close

But damn. I hope tool changers are the future

while I appreciate the limits of then-current technology, it felt like DSC just ignored the era it takes place in until the Enterprise shows up. They even had to joke about how quaint the "view screen" was compared to what the Discovery has.

DSC ignored technology, hell it ignored an entire specie

And we want to thank @protopasta.bsky.social again for being awesome. Not just by setting this up, but by immediately putting huge stacks of filament in the mail, for absolutely free, to help keep the printers going in the early days.

So if you want a cool company to support... just saying. šŸ’“

Important Info

I am almost out of filament for whistles! I am trying to keep my wishlist out of the urgent section for whistle crew because I know we are expecting a regional shipment before long, but if you were thinking about sending out a spool of filament, feel free to take a peek: www.riotgrrrlrevolution.org
