Don't give it to David Mamet either, he'd ruin it.

My defence with comedy pieces like that is always 'Well, maybe John Hoare or Graham McCann wrote this one', and well, no.

A good way of spotting an AI article is, as well as an absence of humour, a surfeit of adjectives and really ponderous sentences. FB just offered me a very long article on The Brittas Empire (I foolishly clicked on some comedy AI piece once and now it will not leave me alone) - it ticks all boxes.

Photograph of me, standing next to a sign which reads β€˜Muriel Spark Walk’. I’m wearing dark corduroys, a red jumper, brown jacket and a brown beanie hat.

My book, LIKE A CAT LOVES A BIRD: THE NINE LIVES OF MURIEL SPARK, comes out in just over a month!

In the run-up, I went to Spark’s birthplace to drop off proofs in lots of brilliant bookshops. Here are some photos of me gallivanting about like a big smiley tea cosy.

I think it high time they opened the format up to the general public, too.

Rob Beckett, for instance, hasn't slept since July 2018.

A plea to whoever decides these things to give House of Games to someone who isn't already On Everything.

Little reminder that this is happening in Glasgow THIS SATURDAY and as far as I'm aware tickets are still available. Bring your kids! Bring yourself! It's honestly going to be so much fun and we cannot wait.

Ironic that the one bit of television where stuff needs to be said a few times doesn’t do that.

Her FB posts are all β€˜let’s be nice’, but the trouble is, there’s only one reason to join or support Reform, and it’s not a nice reason.

The real her is on Twitter RTing Kisin and Lee Anderson. (I checked via Nitter.)

Our former Tory now Reform local councillor approvingly sharing a cake and coffee morning for families with neurodiverse kids. (Reform’s deputy leader Tice has, and she’ll know, branded neurodiverse kids as β€˜insane’ in the past year.) Does she realise who she’s joined? Yes, obv. #NiceBiscuitsFash

I was at Ken's bedside last week. He gave me some life-changing television (Singing Detective, Leeds United among them) and loved nothing more than a gossip over a long lunch. I also admired his positive forward-thinking attitude to new work, rather than getting cynical in his years. A one-off.

I have a memoir. It's really good imo, reflections on immigration, privilege, addiction, sexuality, illness and the importance of serendipity its bitchy, silly and occasionally very bleak indeed. It's an unconventionl tale packed with failure. And i doubt i have the energy to write a sequel.

Thanks to those (assuming they're on Bluesky) who've recently given some four- and five-star ratings to #IntoTheGroove on amazon. I really appreciate it.
