The Pill Report - January 2025 A quick through some of the meanest beans of the last month.

The latest edition of The Pill Report is now available: this series simply shares descriptions of ecstasy pills that are highly or variably dosed (and, worst case scenario, both!)

RCs are a niche part of the overall drug market, but these "early adopters", to nick a tech term, often lead the broader market in terms of what starts to show up as substitutes for more-common drugs. To my mind, it's well worth following these developments to parse future trends

The latest edition of The Pill Report, in contrast to Trip Reports of late, is looking pretty promising. The average dose seems to be levelling out and batches seem to get more consistent every week.

The trends appearing in the first TTR of 2024 look a lot like those of 2023. Benzo/nitazene combinations still dominate, and we're even seeing a resurgence (seemingly isolated atm) of cathinone adulteration in ecstasy.

The Pill Report 18/12 An easy-breezy read of some really seasoned beans

The final Pill Report of 2023 is dominated by the Pop Smoke, which is being reported as being incredibly potent across Europe with very few low-dose pills reported.

However, as long-time readers know, my heart still belongs to the prodigal Blue Punisher...

The press quality of a pill doesn't tell you much about the chemical makeup of a sample, of course, but it says a lot about the operation behind it. A good press indicates serious equipment, the space to house it and the resources/expertise to use them effectively.

In much, much lighter news, this week's Pill Report shows the continuing recovery of Europe's ecstasy market. Dose ranges (barring one particular exception) are narrowing and press quality is significantly improving.

The majority of the samples this week come from the newly-reconstituted WEDINOS project, who have really proven their pricelessness here - without them, we would likely have found out about this weeks or months later through autopsies.

We have suddenly fast-forwarded past that point in recent weeks, and are now seeing the blending of bromazolam and metonitazene *within a sample* across the UK. Depending on the doses in the pill and the person taking it, a single "street valium" could now be fatal.

I've already spoken a bit on the encroachment of nitazenes into the UK's opioid supply and have been worried for some time about it starting to appear as a substitute for benzos, which could pose enormous danger to someone who might take a mix of pills.
