Appears that hate crimes against Jewish people in the UK have not jumped in the last year out the blue. Like the attack in Manchester, this is about Israel’s slaughter in Gaza, enabled by the West. Al-Shamie is not the only one with blood on his hands.

The way much of the right has used people’s deaths to fuel their deluded agenda is shameless. Just look at the comment section of the Telegraph and Mail. Urgh.

And the right wing press still quotes Netanyahu like he’s a statesman, a voice of reason, someone who speaks for all Jews. Embarrassing.

Ridiculous thing to say. Stopping Netanyahu slaughter of Muslims in Gaza will make attacks like these far less likely. These protests are not anti-Jew, they are anti-Netanyahu.

On trial for journalism in Kentucky. Two months after their arrests while covering a protest, a pair of local reporters face criminal charges.

Student journalist Lucas Griffith faces trial today for covering a protest against the deportation of Ayman Soliman, who himself fled persecution for his journalism in Egypt.

Lucas did nothing wrong. This is a big deal and would be national news in normal times.

Both are racism driven, but pretending this incident (or the imagined Tommy one) have happened in some kind of a vacuum where national/world events have not occurred, is bizarre, especially for journalists.

When things like this happen, you need to ask why, and ignoring this elephant in the room is just dishonest.

Tbh I'm surprised there's not been a lot more of these terrible incidents, or even another 9/11 style attack on the US, due to the West's refusal to stop the genocide in Gaza.

No, I think we just have to be realistic about the drivers. The Tommy extremist attacking a mosque this week would most likely be driven by the recent explosion of anti immigrant racism in the UK, and Muslim extremist would most likely be driven to do this because of the slaughter in Gaza.

A lot of the kneejerk comment articles (usual suspects) on the Manchester synagogue attack oddly have virtually no mention of Israel's genocide in Gaza. What sort of weird game are these writers playing here, and why do they think ignoring reality is going to protect anyone? Total madness
