i often think i have an eye for catching AI, however, on more than one occasion ive assumed something was AI only to discover its over 10 years old,, sometimes human made art just looks like AI and thats something ive learned to accept

humans were making art with that "AI-style" long before AI

for context there were some posts saying that the pokopia text generator is AI with no reasoning or proof, despite the creator saying over and over again that its handmade

it is not wrong to be concerned but making call out posts when you arent 100% sure is shitty to the human behind the art

i think we should be a little more cautious of what we accuse of being AI without proof (btw those AI checkers are NOT proof, they tend to be inaccurate)

obviously i understand why we are easily skeptical of things now but it can be very damaging and hurtful to falsely accuse someone

What's scary about this story is the surveillance it hints at. This trans woman had changed her name, legally, but chose not to change her gender marker. She was apparently flagged in the DMV system as trans and her license was invalidated under a law that supposedly only concerned gender markers.
