Reminds me of Obama, who was also so good with kids
The victims deserve better than to be used to score political points.
This article was delightful - dishy about people in the news and a glimpse into a world I would have died to be a part of as an aspiring writer in the 90s:

The hate Mamdani is getting is not for his policy positions. Say free buses are impractical, sure. Question his beliefs on anti-Semitism, totally fair. Associate him with criminals from other countries based on his ethnicity? That's getting a bit racist.
A free Iran would truly change the world
"slow college," perhaps
The instructional model of college has to change - where it used to rely on independent reading and writing it now needs to become much more time intensive and supervised to be effective.
Brooklyn is with you.
Facts.
This is exactly why the government shouldn't get involved in student activism. They can't tell the difference between a peacenik like Mahdawi and actual terrorist supporters. What a travesty of justice.

Love this
"permanent" "modern" "digital"
I'm screaming.
Absolutely gorgeous. Love the detail on the trees.
I'm so sorry. Most of us don't want this. For all the evil stuff I imagined this guy doing, I never thought he would go after cancer research. Just pure evil.
Totally agreed!
This isn't helpful. Plenty of Dems in red states - as well as people who voted for Trump because they were lied to. We need their support - and they need ours.
Now now, it's not for no reason - it's because Putin paid him to!
Omg this is gorgeous
Gorgeous! Can't wait to read it!
Proud of my hometown 🥲
So proud of Wylie!! ❤️
Praying for justice for them and all the innocents ruthlessly murdered.
I don't know how any American parent can ever again look their kid in the face and honestly tell them not to let the pigeon drive the bus
And I agree, so-called "administrative detention," or detention without charge, is illegal and wrong.
From where I sit it seems like taking and killing civilian hostages is their cause, what they work towards and celebrate. What have they done to improve the lives of Palestinians?
If DOGE actually wanted to improve the situation by committing the required resources, that would be one thing. But they are just there to loot.
Yes, the occupation has always been wrong, making a decent life for Palestinians impossible. I wish I saw more hope right now. The situation seems darker than ever.
No. The Palestinian people deserve self-determination. But this doesn't justify the murder of innocent civilians. Especially children. Which is what Hamas does, and celebrates, and places at the center of their movement. Everyone, Palestinian and Israeli, deserves better.
