This is an incorrect calculation of the area of a triangle by a young Babylonian student at school around 1900-1600 BCE, excavated from the ancient city of Kish.

It’s a moment in the history of math, of education, of children, of mistakes, of people being people. I love it.

the short half-life of #LLMs models is silly and undermining scientific discourse.

Llama 2 was still considered SOTA among open source models for all #NeurIPS2024 submissions (Llama 3 was released not even one month prior to the deadline).

Now reviewers consider it crap for #ICLR2025 🤦

please, if you are a white dude in tech, take a minute to reflect before you offer advice on how to make it in academia/industry, esp to marginalized folx. these folx face a different set of structural obstacles and likely don't have as much resources/privilege as you do
