Next week, the Gene Regulation Club has its first stop in 2026. The 1-day symposium brings together researchers from TriRhena π«π·π¨ππ©πͺ region including IGBMC, MPI-IE & FMI.
This time at the @igbmc.bsky.social (Strasbourg) with a NewPI talk by @simonelsasser.bsky.social

We are looking for a Postdoc to join our lab at @oxfordbiochemistry.bsky.social. This is a dry-lab focused post on the computational analysis of long read single-cell sequencing data to understand the role of transposable elements (TEs) in early development. my.corehr.com/pls/uoxrecru... #TEsky
Angelika showed us all how to pursue science with limitless enthusiasm, rigor, and generosity. Excited to announce the call for this year's Angelika Amon Young Scientist Award! Please encourage PhD students outside the United States who embody her infectious passion for biology to apply.
I get why people say it makes sense but I hate the idea. At least for me, the idea of never 'finishing' anything would be very hard. Lots of problems with articles but having to package up experiments/analyses into a coherent written form forces you to conclude somethingl.
This account of the eLife saga will provoke much debate. One aspect isn't accurate: eLife wasn't "designed as an experiment in removing gatekeepers". The original intent was to publish "outstanding papers" but have the gatekeepers be academic not professional editors 1/2 nikomc.com/2026/03/05/e...
Join us tonight for a @cmvm-edinburghuni.bsky.social Inaugural Lecture to learn how advances in DNA sequencing, AI-based modelling & large-scale genome analysis are improving genetic diagnosis, deepening our understanding of tumour evolution & shaping targeted treatments. But they still put the false review up as part of the open review?!
Next virtual talk in our @eseb.bsky.social Special Topic Network on polygenic adaptation:
Congrats, you should pop down to Edinburgh sometime and introduce yourself!
Yes, seconded. I'm pretty good at avoiding 'Interestingly,...' but use 'However,....' way too often.
Thanks, looks very useful and extensive. If you are taking suggestions for additions, I've always found the the Capra Lab manuscript template really useful and didn't see it in the list:

Could be worth and add!
Very useful collection!
A very important editorial:

Happy to announce I've launched a new service for the fly community: flyRoom, a web-based comprehensive stock manager for all your fly pushing needs. Organise all your stocks, maps all your genotypes, plan your crosses, print and scan your labels. Give it a try and let your colleagues know!
β° Calling all chromatin aficionados!
We we will be joined by @adelmanlab.bsky.social from @harvardmed.bsky.social for our March 27th webinar π
Karen will be sharing her groups work on 'Transcription & RNA Quality Control in Health & Disease' π·π§¬

π°οΈThe next session of #FragileNucleosome seminar series due to switch to daylight saving in US will start at 4pm GMT (5pm CET) time.
I'm sure the key players are known but I'm not an expert on it at all.
REMINDER!!!
Do not hesitate and apply to this new opportunity in our department !
Does the pattern vary between early/late late replicating domains in the cells? DNA abundance in cycling human cells shows underrepresentation in late replicating regions if I remember correctly (www.cell.com/cell/fulltex....
Do they have an intact DNA replication checkpoint? Believe its absence causes problems restarting DNA replication (@bertolinlab.bsky.social is more of an expert than I am though).
