Yeah, the tome grinding for successive weapons isn’t too fun. I ended up doing fates outside towards the end but it didn’t help that I maxed out the shared fate for the zone from scratch before I got a single one. :/

It was a nice idea on paper but I think it needed some sort of failsafe to make it less tedious. Maybe being able to exchange the excess of one atma for another one that you still needed?

Lots of rumours about multiple rewrites and deleted chapters. However, I’ve heard that he’s always been meticulous with his notes on each character. It’s possible someone could use that to piece together a coherent ending.

You’re probably right. I think only time will tell. I’m wondering if someone would step in to finish Winds and Dream after Martin, because it’s unlikely there will ever be a version of Winds released while he’s around.

I think it’s a mix of that and not wanting to share his ending for fear of his fans’ reception. Like, he saw the way we reacted to each season of the show, how public perception tanked after the finale, and I think he probably wouldn’t want people to come after him once his version is out there.

It really is so special in what it does. A series with a continuing and connected narrative, a dense world with rich lore that is deepened and progressed with every entry, solid gameplay, and frequent enough entries so there is always something to look forward to. It’s imperfect, yet stands high.
