On a scale if 1 to 5, how hot is your scale of 1 to 5?
Again plugging @socialistdogmom.bsky.social "Weird Little Guys" pod that briefs us well on this moment and the events preceding.
THREAD: Under a new law, thousands of prisoners in Louisiana have been cut off from ever getting a chance at parole.
Why?
Because an algorithm said so. 1/
I'm like 90% sure that someone misunderstood, "transgenic", and now they have to pretend that trans mice are a thing.
The Black Panthers were treated like terrorists and the Proud Boys aren't. That's why the right can organize. It's not some secret.

We have a second extrjudicial camp. San Vicente. The migrants are being denied access to thier lawyers, kept in cages that are not cages, and fed stale bread. San Vicente is a very large compound, even if there are probably less than 1000 people there now.
Those are the sources calling them security. No one has been able to identify them as far as I can tell. The sheriff earlier said he was, "not acting in an official capacity." But I think he has since spoken to a lawyer, because his name has been removed from at least a 2 sources.
The sheriff, Bob Norris has Wikipedia page that reads like a crime novel. The two brown shirts are unidentified, but maybe work for the venue and maybe are just some randos, depending on the source. The video is hard to watch. There a couple of sources saying that she was arrested for assault.

This one's been a little hard to source so far. A woman in Idaho, Teresa Borrenpohl, was definitely escorted out of a town hall by an off duty sheriff and two brown shirts after speaking up about Medicare getting gutted.

I was told today that P2025 was a Democrat lie to make conservatives look bad.
From my recent experience, the police took me to the local city jail (credit to HBPD, they were polite and professional the entire time), where they searched me and put me in a cell. Then I had to wait while they figured out what I was getting charged with (disrupting an assembly)
Honestly got to respect the level of contortionist analysis here, amazing

Some of those that burn crosses are the same that hold office.
out: quibbling about the difference between a democracy and a constitutional republic
in: prefacing comments on the minarchist state with a note that it’s not a typo - the night watchman provides only one service and it’s violence

There is a shame here that penance can not satisfy.
A 6 min poem by Emily Gorcenski.
Still can't get over this. PEPFAR is one of the best things the US has ever done, and we're doing this. Monstrous.
Something coffeezilla glosses over here is that is an evolution in the ability to directly pay trump off. There is no service, no board of directors, and no laws governing how much can be paid. A government, company, or individual can just buy a number of coins for however much they want.
Apparently the president has launch a personal meme coin. It's a transparent scam with no attempt for a value add or hope for it to increase in value because thier holding 80% of the coins and the unlock horizon is short.

Because apparently letting anyone know you could get a vaccine would be "patronizeing", and "one size fits all." What a farce.

It really is messed up how bad the computer is now
really incredible story here! amazing comparing this to the 2014 Ebola outbreak. gives one some measure of hope.
James and I wrote on a games site that died over a decade ago. He's both a great writer and guy. Please watch his show, or I will personally hold it against you
bashar al-assad won't read your posts celebrating his downfall, but all your friends who have deployed chemical weapons against children might. watch what you say and remember, be best.

That's disappointing. I guess they figured with the changes incoming to the NLRB, they should test the waters.

It’s fun to pretend the mistakes aren’t limited to the app and this is my 2024 total as a human being
The tone with which they discuss black people in Freakonomics really is something
heartwarming story for the holidays ❤️🔥
“…the neo-Nazis told police they had never experienced a response like the one they received in Columbus. They said people pulled guns on them and threw cans and vegetables as they marched... One of the officers noted the men were ‘covered in’ pepper spray.”
