Thoroughly enjoyed a lot of the F1 movie, it’s over the top with what’s allowed in modern F1 but I loved the ride.

Tbh I don’t know enough about the legal side to even try to discuss it.

The whole thing is a mess. And it’s only just starting, he may be proven innocent. He might be guilty. We just don’t know and it’s hard to know what to think.

This is all said with the caveat that it’s inconsequential how I feel about a football team in the grand scheme of this situation.

If - a huge if - he is proven innocent, the club can just about justify their actions. Even then the desire to renew the contract is questionable.

If he’s guilty and they protected him, the club is no longer a place I see my values reflected.

I am struggling to know what answers anyone can give that leads to anything besides immediate dismissal.

Expedition 33 is the most incredible story with the most frustrating gameplay I’ve ever seen.

On it being a lesser experience. I think it’s impossible to deliver the same experience between the mediums.

Nothings going to make the audience feel that level of conflict holding the controller in California, in the same way a game couldn’t make hate Walter White whilst still cheering for him.

It sounds like the changes to adapt it to TV aren’t working for you, and tbh I feel it is near impossible to recreate the emotional swing the game performs on you, because a big part is that you’re put in control. It’s a special experience.

I think games allow for much slower pacing in terms of character development and give you hours and hours of little moments as you’re exploring and playing that is definitely missing. I don’t feel like we know Ellie or Dinah anywhere near as much as we did in the game I agree.

I don’t think Future Days is being ignored, it’s just a device you want to have a big hit. I think we’ll see it in a flashback and it’ll have the emotional impact there.

Re: the pacing, I actually think they’ve gone as slow as you can in a tv show to keep the audience interested-

Of course I am someone who prefers film & TV for narratives, and TLOU2 is the only game I’ve ever played that I think is on the same level as the best of those mediums.

And therefore any adaptation of it is going to be lesser, particularly as the narrative “trick” of the game is so reliant on you being on the sticks.

As an adaptation of the destructive cycle of hatred that the game represents I think it’s doing a good job so far.

I’m intrigued what you think is missing?

I think it’s picking deliberate moments from the game to highlight major character development moments and trying to allow the actors to shine in those scenes.

I think the games storytelling is only rivalled by the very best in the film and tv mediums.

Starting Expedition 33 and being thrown straight into meeting another Jennifer English voiced character is not fair when I’m also trying to NOT romance Shadowheart in my 7th BG3 playthrough.
