It's hard to describe bittersweet feeling of putting handmade blankets over shoulders of a shivering senior who just came out of hospital, a young woman suffering in homelessness, trying to fit shoes on feet of a man in socks with frostbitten toes, or socks on hands of man too sick to communicate 😢
Evidence shows us tariffs & border enforcement won’t reduce drug availability—drug networks adapt & bypass restrictions. The ‘Iron Law’ of prohibition shows harsher enforcement fuels even more potent drugs. A public health approach is the real solution.

I think it's the first book of its kind. I can't believe I got to do it.

There are many reasons why someone might refuse a shelter bed: poor treatment, fearful an abusive partner could find them, violence, theft, no place to store belongings, no pets, and the indignity of being kicked out at 7am with nowhere to go. A bed is not a home.

care camp in Midland Ontario… I am offering free tents, free meals and paid wages to a few selected homeless people. The notwithstanding clause is not a practical measure to combat with the fact that we have let in too many people from other countries and put our people on the streets!
