They’re also letting he’s authentic and/or charming (to me) do a lot of the work.

It’s not about policy. It’s vibes.

College students used to believe they had a level of enhanced safety for protest.

Now they know they are not protected but are in fact uniquely vulnerable: criminal charges, deportation, and expulsion.

I suspect they’re doing more mutual aid stuff now and keeping some organizing on the low.

Having met kindergarteners, I’d say there’s considerable overlap between the two groups.

Everyone who complains about the gullibility of people liking professional wrestling is just telling on themselves.

And admitting they were far too old when they first realized professional wrestling is scripted.

The rest of us know it’s gymnastics and punching set to a soap opera!

An online/form tool with the heading “Who is wrong?”

It allows users to enter text for “Elizabeth says” and “Felix says” then it generates a response.

Elizabeth says: ToMAYto
Felix says: ToMAHto

Click on button “Who is wrong?” And it gives the answer in red “Felix is wrong.”

After a few tests, this user suspects the answer given will always be “Felix is wrong.”

Clyburn’s a ruthless—and effective—powerbroker but the redistricting was more complicated than one man’s drive for power.

The article recognizes it.

Short version: Do we go for one guaranteed Black/Dem seat or two competitive seats? Bird in the hand versus two in the bush.

Lastly, we’re all dealing with being part of society. Absolutely none of us consent to being killed by Society.

I’m against the death penalty to begin with (disparities in how it’s applied plus religious/moral beliefs re: redemption and “we’re not the worst thing we’ve done”).

But this case? Geez.

We only celebrated Easter in the the chocolate bunny sense.

Easter is technically the most important holiday in the Christian calendar, but Christmas gets the attention.

Aside: My fam once went for a walk on a sunny Easter day & returned to find melted chocolate bunnies made grotesque in the sun.

A feeling based on facts?!?

Is this the new “alternative facts?”

Not enjoying the Kellyanne reboot. But I wasn’t a fan of the original, either.

And when people speak out on biased framing, they get told
to note the meat of the article & that it’s technically true.

Meanwhile, the “meat” is paywalled & the bad framing is not. See a recent Atlantic:

Wow, this is polite on its face but actually dismissive and condescending!

Essentially: We value and respect your work so much we thought it was important to scoop you rather than work *with* you to share it with a wider audience.

Come for the question evasion, stay for the dig at NYC’s mayor!

Johnson slides in, “socialism doesn’t work, just see Mayor Mamdani.”

Turned over the regime to the next generation. Who came to power because you murdered his father and family.

I don’t see this backfiring on us At. All.

The article sucks, it angers me, and the author exploits Black & Brown communities to make his bad faith argument.

I would like to go back in time and not have read it.

But I greatly appreciate you providing the link!

The author takes a brief history of 1980s NYC (and Black & Brown homeownership) and shoehorns in digs at Mamdani & the DSA.

The article is framed w/ manufactured narrative about progressives being anti-homeownership.

It’s bad faith, and the author exploits Black & Brown communities to do it.

If anyone’s got a link not paywalled, I might read to mock.

Renters also are tired of our needs being ignored while homeowners are deemed more invested in a community.

Just because we can’t afford to buy or don’t want the upkeep of a house doesn’t mean we’re not deeply a part of the community.

In addition to the obvious ways this is horrible, it’s a horrible thing to do to our own soldiers.

They trusted their government would use good judgment & planning for acts of war.

Instead, those involved in this operation have to carry the weight of having killed a school full of little girls.

“Public reporting backs up the ease with which it is to obtain a new valid license” was absolutely NOT the message of your post/story.

Was his filing written by ChatGPT with links just going to top search engine results for a thing?

I appreciated the focused assignment—a character count to describe my mom in a way that showed her personally and professionally.

I liked having tasks then.
